TAG’s IBC Plans Include Technologies that Provide Quicker, Clearer, More Complete Picture of Content Health and Status
New technologies and partnerships combine to deliver increased end-to-end visibility, automation, control, and optimized quality management
Tel Aviv, Israel – July 17, 2023 – TAG Video Systems, the leader in software-based IP end-to-end monitoring, deep probing, and real time visualization solutions, is set to introduce the European market to an enriched version of its Realtime Media Performance monitoring and visualization platform at IBC 2023. New enhancements include heightened integration with Skyline Communications’ DataMiner for more concentrated content insights and management capabilities. The European market will also get its first official introduction to TAG’s ground-breaking Content Matching technology that automatically and accurately identifies and compares the content throughout the workflow, adding another layer of confidence to users of the platform. Visitors can see demonstrations of these new capabilities as well as an elaborate display of dashboard visualizations incorporated into TAG’s award-winning Media Control System (MCS) in Hall 1. Stand C15.
Heightened integration with Skyline Communications’ DataMiner increases visibility, automation and control
A heightened level of integration with Skyline Communications’ DataMiner is adding a robust element of automation, control, and orchestration to TAG’s Media Control System (MCS), the newest layer of the Company’s Realtime Media Performance platform. TAG’s MCS, a monitoring control and data aggregation engine, allows media companies and content owners to manage monitoring for any scale and maximize the value of their monitoring data with advanced data visualization tools and gain invaluable operational insight.
By seamlessly incorporating support for TAG’s MCS into Skyline’s DataMiner platform, valuable media health insights and management capabilities become available on Dataminer’s Dashboards and Apps, with alarms from both solutions visualized on the TAG advanced multiviewer display. Providing a complete view of data and notifications aggregated by both Dataminer and TAG’s MCS in one place increases end-to-end visibility, automation, and control and significantly simplifies day-to-day workflows for users of TAG’s platform. Operators now have simultaneous insight into the status of their infrastructure from Dataminer along with insight to the health of their content and live streams from TAG. This control and visibility into production and distribution workflows provides the data needed to keep systems running smoothly as businesses and services evolve.
Content Matching Adds Confidence to Monitoring and Visualization Platform
TAG’s new Content Matching technology is perhaps the Company’s most ground-breaking technology yet. Content Matching is an intelligently engineered process that ensures content is delivered in real time to its intended destination without any errors or discrepancies. It helps identify potential issues and confirms signal integrity leading to increased broadcaster confidence and a high-quality viewer experience.
Content Matching uses a unique mechanism to detect similar content across two different streams to ensure correct and uninterrupted delivery. This is done by creating a unique fingerprint for each video frame and audio envelope and matching them across the entire media distribution path against a user-defined reference point. This new technology dramatically reduces workflow complexity and eyes-on-glass and enables media companies to deliver quality content with fewer resources and more confidence.
TAG’s Content Matching can identify and correlate audio and video uniqueness accurately regardless of the resolution, bitrate, or framerate, thus enabling a match between any two or more points in the workflow. Even after the content has been processed and manipulated, TAG can still identify the match and confirm that the content is identical, correct, and behaves as expected.
The ability to identify, match and correlate content to content anywhere in the workflow empowers users to measure a wide variety of parameters. Potential uses are limited only by the user’s imagination. With a reference point and one or more monitoring points, comparisons are easily made, and issues can be quickly identified.
“The integration with DataMiner and the introduction of Content Matching further solidify our commitment to providing our customers with the most advanced and comprehensive monitoring and multiviewer solutions in the market. We believe these new features will greatly increase productivity, enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure the highest quality of service for our customers,” said Kevin Joyce, TAG’s Zer0 Friction Officer.
Dashboard Visualizations
Providing users with the tools they need to maximize their own data is evident in all aspects of TAG’s culture. At IBC 2023, TAG will demonstrate how users will now have the ability to create custom dashboards and visualizations to suit their exact requirements. Using TAG’s MCM system’s deep probing and analysis capabilities combined with the MCS data aggregation and management toolset, dashboard visualizations can be easily built with well-known open toolsets like Kibana, Grafana and Kafka to address any level of detail in any media workflow. Representative visualizations for various workflows and applications will showcase the depth and flexibility of displays enabled by the MCS, including application-specific functions such as MPEG-TS and OTT delivery, audio analysis, SCTE Triggers and more.
