Built upon an entirely new platform, pioneering enclosures are the most flexible and scalable from the Italian manufacturer to date
If there’s anything factual among all of the Winter NAMM rumors you’ve heard so far, it’s that dBTechnologies will indeed unveil a forward-thinking generation of new VIO loudspeakers in booth #18219 (North Hall, Level 2) that promises to exponentially expand the product line’s usability. Built upon a newly-engineered and entirely different platform that marries the best attributes of a traditional line array system with those of a point-source system, the enclosures are a hybrid amalgamation of technology that draws upon the same audio and build quality the industry has come to expect of VIO products, all while delivering much more in terms of scalability and flexibility.
“The scalability this new VIO Series offers in both the horizontal and vertical plane dramatically strengthens our product line,” dBTechnologies national sales manager Colin Studybaker explains. “We’re excited to have added these new products to our catalog, as they will expand our capabilities in the permanent install, portable PA, and touring market.”
The new VIO loudspeakers feature an asymmetrical horn design and an innovative high-speed rigging system unlike anything else found in its class. Remote control and monitoring is facilitated via dBTechnologies’ Aurora Net software. Stand-alone control and monitoring is enabled with the help of an onboard OLED screen, while built-in IR communication capabilities found within each device can be used to link the arrayed enclosures – without the use of an ethernet cable.
Beyond being able to examine the new loudspeakers up-close in booth #18219, NAMM attendees can both hear and see this innovative new VIO product at the NAMM Loudspeaker System Showcase located in the Anaheim Convention Center Arena on Thursday January 16 at 10:20 A.M., Friday January 17 at 12:40 P.M., Saturday January 18 at 5:00 P.M., plus at each of the showcase’s Round Robin demonstrations.
