The KVM Secure Core Extenders Are Designed for Hardened Environments
CRANBURY, N.J. — Feb. 23, 2023 — Offering the latest in cybersecurity best practices, IHSE USA today announced its IHSE 487 Series KVM Secure Core™ extenders are designed specifically to the stringent specifications of the U.S. government and comply with the requirements of the NIAP/Common Criteria Protection Profile for Peripheral Sharing Devices Version 4.0. This TAA-compliant secure KVM extender system allows users to switch safely and securely between computers operating at different classification levels. They are ideal for use in network environments that demand rigorous cybersecurity provisions, including government, military, and other critical infrastructure applications.
“When it comes to accessing and managing data across multiple computers, KVM solutions must address the increase in cybersecurity threats and data leakage, and the management of classified and unclassified data,” said Dan Holland, marketing manager for IHSE USA. “With over 35 years of experience in the KVM business, we know how to prevent cyber threats and keep data secure. This certification allows operators the confidence of controlling multiple systems using the same set of peripherals without exposing confidential data to attack.”
The new Draco vario 487 Series of secure KVMA (keyboard, video, mouse, audio) extenders maintain air-gap signal isolation to protect multidomain A/V distribution device sharing. To offer the highest level of air-gap separation, the 487 Series meets the strictest Common Criteria/NIAP data-security requirements for peripheral-sharing devices. The 487 Series of products prevent vulnerable video peripherals from attacking secure computers by ensuring that video and KM flow in a unidirectional and filtered manner. By preventing host-to-peripheral direct access, the secure extender eliminates data leakage and filters irrelevant data from reaching sensitive computers. Every model supports USB-HID for keyboard and mouse, DisplayPort/HDMI, and optionally audio. When these extenders are used as part of an IHSE secure KVM matrix, users can simultaneously control, and access classified and nonclassified sources through the same keyboard and mouse port.
