Ampetronic Provides Accessible Audio to Visitors in UK Pavilion at Expo 2025
Hearing accessibility advocate and solutions provider demonstrates the exceptional audio quality and versatility of assistive listening systems in exhibit and event spaces
Newark-on-Trent, UK—April 28, 2025—Ampetronic, a global leader in the design and manufacture of assistive listening solutions, specializing in hearing loop systems, is proud to sponsor the UK Pavilion at Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan. Ampetronic is ensuring clear audio is accessible to all UK Pavilion visitors so they can fully engage in this unique and entertaining experience that demonstrates the best of British creativity and innovation.
Expo 2025 is a World Expo that opened on April 13 and will run through October 13. More than 28 million visitors from Japan and internationally are expected to attend the Expo, themed “Designing Future Society for Our Lives.”
Visitors to the UK Pavilion will meet the UK’s Expo 2025 mascot, PIX, and be invited to participate in an immersive and interactive exhibit. The exhibit is an animated 20-minute journey that features a heartfelt story of a Japanese father and daughter and their experiences working in, living in, and visiting the UK.
UK Pavilion visitors can use their devices and wearables to access clear audio
Ampetronic is offering ListenWIFI, an audio over Wi-Fi-based assistive listening solution from strategic partner Listen Technologies, to optimize the audio experience for all visitors to the animated exhibit.
Visitors can download the free ListenWIFI app on their smartphone, select Japanese or English audio, and stream audio accompanying the displays to their smartphone in either language. They can listen to the audio with their earbuds or headphones. Visitors with Bluetooth® enabled hearing aids and cochlear implants can stream the audio from their smartphones directly to their hearing aids and cochlear implants. Visitors also have the option to stream audio descriptions in either language to their smartphone.
ListenWIFI filters out ambient noise, so listeners hear clear audio directly in their ears.
Ampetronic is offering hearing loop technology at reception and information desks and in the UK Pavilion shop to support the listening needs of visitors who wear hearing aids with telecoils.
Ampetronic is also featuring Auri™, the first Auracast™ broadcast audio-based assistive listening system, in the UK Pavilion meeting rooms and conference spaces. Auri™ is built on the new standard for Bluetooth® Low Energy. Auri™ transmitters broadcast live and recorded venue audio simultaneously to an unlimited number of Auracast™ compatible devices within range. Visitors with hearing aids, earbuds, and smartphones featuring Auracast™ technology can choose an audio broadcast and listen via their device.
Ampetronic wants clear audio to be accessible to everyone, everywhere
Each of the assistive listening solutions Ampetronic is featuring in the UK Pavilion helps end-users overcome the challenges of hearing loss, distance, background noise, and language so they can hear clearly and understand in any environment.
“Ampetronic is honoured to be part of Expo 2025, an event that celebrates innovation, inclusion, and international collaboration,” said Ed Beck, international business development manager, Ampetronic. “Ampetronic is committed to increasing audio accessibility for all guests and looks forward to demonstrating the power of assistive listening solutions to overcome communication barriers and enhance visitor experiences. We hope everyone will enjoy the events and exhibits at the UK Pavilion and be inspired by their experience to request and utilize assistive listening systems whenever they visit a public venue.”
The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that one in five people worldwide has hearing loss. In the UK, one in three adults is deaf or has hearing loss or tinnitus (source: RNID). Not being able to hear and understand can be isolating and negatively affect overall health.
“As we ‘Design Future Society for Our Lives,’ accessibility and inclusion must be central to our efforts,” said Beck. “Technologies and solutions are available now to improve the lives of people with hearing loss and increase access to audio for everyone in public spaces.”
Carolyn Davidson, The UK’s Commissioner General for Expo 2025, said: “The UK Pavilion is a bold showcase of British innovation, creativity, and sustainability on the world stage.
“We are delighted that Ampetronic is supporting our Come Build The Future Visitor Exhibition with their next-generation Bluetooth broadcasting technology, ensuring the UK Pavilion is fully accessible for visually and hearing-impaired visitors.”
All are invited to visit the UK Pavilion at Expo 2025 in Osaka
The UK Pavilion is located in the southwest section of the Expo site on Yumeshima Island. It is open to the public from 09:00 – 21:00 every day.
