Over the past two decades, West Coast-based 3G Productions LLC has steadily grown to become one of North America’s premier live event production services and systems integration providers. Bolstering the company’s strategic plans to diversify its client base and further develop into a national brand, 3G Productions today announced that it has purchased the assets of Switch Video, a top provider of video rental services for the film/television, corporate/tradeshow, and live event and touring industries.

Effective immediately, 3G has assumed ownership of Switch Video’s operations in both Castaic, California and Atlanta, Georgia, rebranding them as 3G Productions facilities. Switch’s leadership team has been retained and will be carrying on with 3G post-transaction, including industry veterans Alan Barber, Justin Edgerly and Shawn Orm, all of whom will be tasked with leading the Los Angeles and Atlanta locations’ business development and the new film/TV and corporate/tradeshow vertical markets for 3G.

“We are excited to welcome Switch Video to the 3G family,” said Keith Conrad, 3G Productions’ CEO. “Not only is their equipment inventory highly complementary to our own arsenal of production tools, but Switch’s talented team of industry experts fits very well into 3G’s culture as our ‘people-first’ organization continues to expand. This acquisition represents a significant step forward in our commitment to growing into a national full-service production company with a deep and diversified client base. By combining our strengths, we are now able to deliver even better service and greater value to our customers.”

Alan Barber, Switch Video’s CEO, agrees: “This new partnership allows Switch to significantly expand its service offerings by leveraging 3G’s comprehensive 360-degree approach to production, including sound, lighting, video, and rigging,” he says. “With 3G’s inventory and expertise, together we can now deliver more turnkey solutions to our customers. This move also enhances our competitiveness in the touring market by increasing our gear availability and quality. In the end, it’s a ‘win’ – both for our combined teams as well as for our clients.”
