Office spaces, control rooms, conferencing centers and learning environments have all undergone significant changes and finding the right combination of hardware is vital to making all the newest displays, control systems and conferencing systems as user friendly as they can be. It all starts with a design to bring it together. Shown here are some of the latest tables, racks and mounts to help formulate that plan.
Adaptive Technologies Group introduces the highly anticipated HoverCage projector suspension and mapping system. The rugged, modular aluminum frame is constructed to resist common warping issues in existing models. The HoverCage is stackable and equipped with x, y, z and tilt adjustments allowing event staff to set up complex projector mapping systems or simply aim a single projector with precision. HoverCage offers multiple mounting points that accept popular truss clamp models.
The Altinex TNP328 provides a very compact cable interconnection point for conference tables, podiums and other AV furniture. The connection surface folds down into a recessed pocket and it can be opened with a light touch on the lid. The dual AC connectors are each capable of handling up to 12A while the computer video/audio, HDMI and network pass through cables offer connections for a variety of user devices. These 6ft. cables are bundled and pre-terminated. Both AC outlets on the panel are fed by a single AC cable in the bundle. The panel can be customized with a range of connector combinations.
For secure equipment mounting especially in tight spaces, AtlasIED has the AWR3W-HR 3RU tilt-out half-rack wall cabinet with 16-Gauge CRS construction and a two-position, tilt-out 16-gauge CRS locking door. For in-wall or surface mounting, the unit fits between standard 16in. stud wall construction and the door closes flush against the rack face plate. Its two open positions include tilt-out for equipment operation and 90 degrees for installation. The back box is 18-gauge CRS and is equipped with six eight concentric 1⁄2in. and 3⁄4in. conduit knockouts. Units are furnished with two steel safety catch cables that suspend and hold doors at 90 degrees.
For a great look and a solid presentation work surface the new LEX321 stylish presentation lectern from Audio Visual Furniture International provides a page stopper to keep books and papers secure. It also has a very solid thermowrap body finish, hidden heavy duty casters, two of which are locking, and adjustable shelves. The 26.5 x 21in. work surface has plenty of room and the middle shelf can be removed. Options include an MX418 S/C Microflex gooseneck microphone, 6 Outlet 110V Power Bar, surface mounted 3-outlet 120V Power bar, round cable well and custom cutouts for electronics and other items.
With the DynamiQ Wall Stand and its Easy Glide Mount, Avteq can provide a height-adjustable solution for boardroom or classroom video displays. The mount uses spring-weighted technology to move the display up or down with the touch of a finger. The frame is black while the panels may be custom skinned in veneer or laminate to match any room. The unit includes cabling pathways throughout its 3RU vertical enclosure. Designed to be anchored to a wall, the DynamiQ Wall Stand is ADA compliant. Models are available with special mounts that support the 55in. and 70in. Cisco Webex Board.
Chief Manufacturing can provide their TiLED Series which is a modular, LED mounting system that offers a solution even for unconventional or especially challenging display mounting environments. They can be joined to form a seamless video wall. Equipped with a 1in. integrated plumb adjustment, the mounts can compensate for irregularities in the surface of the display area and their keyhole slots can be used for quick and easy installation. Their offset mounting slots protect the edges of the LED panels in any of the range of creative display installations these units make possible.
Crestron’s FlipTop FT2 Series table connector panels add ease of installation to their many customization options. With their very low profile, the panels’ finished metal surfaces blend with the conference table and the one-touch, fully-retracting lid conceals all connectors when closed. Users can select any combination of drop-in modules to slide into twelve module slots arranged in two rows of six. The modules can provide pass-through cables, one-touch cable retractors, gravity cable retractors, active connector plates, keystone connector plates, USB rapid chargers, and international AC power outlets. Backlit symbol icons illuminate to identify connection types in a darkened room.
The FlexWall Video Matrix Floor to Wall System from Crimson AV is used for advanced digital signage projects where displays up to 70in. can be installed. Fully modular and quick to assemble, the Video Matrix can be configured for infinite width and a height of up to four rows. The finished unit is capable of lateral shift for the displays, vertical adjustment, leveling and plumb adjustment. There is a safety latch with the ability to add an optional padlock for security. Any screen can be extended out 10.75in. for maintenance without removal of any others.
Designed by Da-Lite from the ground up to be a perfect lectern for media presentations, the Multi-Media Lectern can fit a monitor up to 15in. while a pull-out shelf just below the lectern reading surface provides the keyboard. There are also adjustable equipment shelves to allow a wide range of AV equipment combinations. Cabling is accessible by means of the hinged reading surface. Available in 32in. and 42in. wide models, the Multi-Media Lectern also provides two electrical outlets. Custom options can include cooling fans, locking doors, dash panel snap-in connectors, a goose neck light and other items.
Draper’s ScissorLift can handle projectors weighing up to 100lbs. in demanding mount situations and there are five models from which to choose ranging in extension capability from 4ft. up to 12ft. Among the options are an environmental air space housing, a ceiling finish kit and a universal style projector attachment bracket. The lift is available in white as standard but it may also be purchased in black. Installation is available on factory installed cables for video and projector control. The unit comes with a wall switch and service key switch.
Epson offers the ELPMB50 stacking and rigging frame by LANG for its Epson Pro L1000 Series of projectors featuring tilt, horizontal and vertical adjustments. Allowing up to three projectors to be vertically stacked, the frames also protect projectors during transportation. The projector is secured to the frame with four bolts and then the frames can be bolted together on the outside corners. Once mounted and stacked, each projector may be adjusted independent of the others in three axes. Each frame weighs 27.6lbs.
For flush-mount convenience and easy cable handling, Extron has the Cable Cubby 1402 Series/2 cable access enclosure for AV connectivity and AC power. It is capable of fitting a Series/2 AC or AC+USB power module and three cable retractors, eight AV cables, or three AAP AV Connectivity Modules on each side. AV connectivity can be installed or serviced from the top of the enclosure after it is installed. The unit can also be equipped with a multi-region AC outlet that is compatible with several types of AC power connectors.
Lowell Manufacturing designed the LER-4022 enclosed rack with adjustable rails and it has fully welded 16-gauge steel with a 14-gauge base, reinforced at all load-bearing junctions. Providing 40 RU of equipment space, the rack has a configurable top with a 7U opening for 19 in. panels. The welded sides have vents and the unit may be optionally fitted with a front door. The rear door is recessed with vents and there is a key lock. There are multiple lacing points and knockout panels. Other features include beveled corners, threaded inserts for optional leg levelers and a black wrinkle powder epoxy finish.
The C3 Series ADA compliant credenza from Middle Atlantic Products can be fitted with a 4RU slide-out rack, a stationary rack, a shelf insert kit or an Integrated Lever Lock for small device mounting capabilities. Available in either 32in. or 24in. height, the credenza can be purchased in either contrasted metal or a classic solid finish. MAP also has the Preconfigured L7 Series Lectern in a choice of finishes on a welded steel frame with configurable storage space. The lectern is designed with integrated power, cable and thermal management. It has a wireless charging pad and a 61x31in. work surface. The motorized height adjustability accommodates presenters who sit or stand.
The Peerless-AV solution for safely mounting, moving and storing an interactive display is their SmartMount Motorized Height Adjustable Flat Panel Cart. Built to handle 42 to 86in. interactive screens, the unit’s UL recognized actuators enable the user to use a pushbutton to raise or lower the display up to 25.6in. A mini PC and power strip can be attached to the rear shelf with the power cord bundled and stored beneath the shelf. The display stays put when touched due to the cart’s large wall plate and locking casters.
The LMPV Press & Release Pop Out Mount from Premier Mounts is specially designed for video wall applications with displays configured in portrait orientation. For maintenance, the rear of each display can be accessed in five seconds using a depression clasp that automatically latches closed and springs open with a gentle push on the bezel of the display. An additional 16 degrees of clear access to the rear of the display is provided by a service-position kickstand. There are also fine-tune adjustment knobs for axes of position.
SnapAV’s SM-RAZOR-ART2-XL is the Strong Razor Articulating Dual-Arm Mount for Flat Panel TVs. It hugs the wall extending only 1.75in. out and it features three-piece construction including its curved, cast-aluminum Razor mount arms. There are also installation-friendly features such as post-installation leveling, height, and tilt adjustments. A single person can easily install the mount and once in place the fine alignment adjustments can be made. The design includes an adjustable home position latch to snap the TV into place, and hold it there securely.
The InVision Access Nano Table from Spectrum Industries provides collaboration teams with a number of options on positioning and table height. The table leg choices are available in Set-and-Go or eLift and the 48 x 60in. table can seat up to four participants. Below the table are ventilated locking access panels with double-bolt, keyed locks for equipment security and cooling. Surface cutouts accommodate scratch resistant work surface-mounted electronics or the optional Cove Power Module. The powder coated steel chassis provides ADA compliant knee clearance and there are leveling guides to steady the table on uneven surfaces.
The Tripp Lite DWFPSC4570M Heavy Duty Fixed Security TV Wall Mount is made for 45–70 in. flat screen displays that are portrait installed. Capable of supporting up to 110lbs. and including a built-in level, the mount includes a security bar that slides through the mounting brackets in the solid steel frame and is secured into place with an included four-position combination lock. The mount complies with VESA standards and its powder-coated black finish resists scratches. The package includes all bolts, plates and the security lock.
For mounting PTZ and fixed cameras on suspended ceilings, Vaddio has the QuickCAT universal ceiling camera mount with adjustable camera positioning. An adjustable ceiling plate allows placement above or below tile and accommodates inconsistent T-grids. This model also features tool-free Microzone adjustment (3° roll, 10° pitch, 360° yaw). The mounting column allows up to 1ft. height adjustment and it has 24 set locking points along with dual inlay channels for multiple cables. The included Q-Lock Quick Release Lever makes mounting and unmounting very fast with the added security of an integrated key and lock system.
Video Mount Products has a solution for simplifying installation of large racks with the EREN Series. Among these, the EREN-42E1K is built with welded steel and it features a tempered glass front door for equipment visibility, removable side panels and a double swing rear access door. The vented top and bottom are aided with pre-installed cooling fans while the top and bottom cable routing knockouts speed installation. There are numbered rack spaces and the casters and leveling feet provide solid positioning. Front and rear rails are adjustable and both doors have reversible hinges.
