Korean media confirms LG plans to mass produce blue PHOLED displays

Good news for those anticipating the launch of blue PHOLED displays: Korean publication ETNews has confirmed that LG is working on a new display type utilizes blue PHOLED panels, which benefit from increased brightness and energy efficiency over traditional OLED panels. According to an unnamed source from within LG Display, the company is using blue PHOLED panels, along with a two-stack tandem panel design (which has taken off as of late), to create a display type that should carry the benefits of blue PHOLED while retaining the lifespan expected of OLED displays.
