Bridging the Gap between Health Care Reform and Systems Integrators

New information is released daily on health care reform policies, compliance, rules, regulations, and timelines. Fortunately, systems integrators and other business owners are not alone to decipher the information. NSCA is offering educational sessions as they work to determine the best options to sustain business and control costs for employees and the company for the long term.

NSCA's SystemsPlus Insurance Solutions staff hosted a webinar on Sept. 16 to educate business owners and HR professionals on the health care reform law and how it will affect their business. Regulatory implications discussed included:

  • Grandfather status
  • Dependent coverage to age 26
  • Patient protection issues, such as pre-existing condition exclusion, rescission, annual and lifetime limits, provider choice, and emergency coverage
  • Preventive services
  • healthcare.gov web portal
  • Medical loss ratio and rate review
  • Brief SystemsPlus Health Solutions program overview.

NSCA Executive director Chuck Wilson, will present a case study of the SystemsPlus program at the SIIA conference on Oct. 13 in Chicago. The SIIA is interested in SystemsPlus because it is a unique medical benefit captive program designed specifically for small and medium-sized businesses within a specific industry. Wilson will highlight the program's ability to curb rising health care costs for its participants.

Commercial electronic systems companies with at least five enrolled employees are eligible to apply for the increasingly popular SystemsPlus Health Solutions insurance program.
