SpeakerCraft is now offering compact sizes of its Theater in Motion Experience (TIME) flush-mount ceiling speakers. The TIME speakers drop out of the ceiling at a precise angle and rotate to a preset position targeted to the listening area. The three new models come in two formats. The TIME Mini 2, the smallest of the line, has an exterior diameter of 5.75in. with a 2.5in. full-range driver. The TIME Mini 5.1 and 5.3 models measure 7.5in. diameter externally and pack a 5in. woofer. Speaker drivers mount at a 45-degree angle inside of a cylinder that descends out of the ceiling when the system is activated. The speakers return to their flush position via a motor assembly that’s controlled and powered by a Cat-5 cable. All three new models require a subwoofer to achieve full frequency response. The 150W powered subwoofer is combined with the control unit in an in-wall design.
