Runco WP-42HD Weatherproof Display

Planar Systems has introduced a weatherproof display under its Runco home theater brand. Designed specifically for use outdoors, the WP-42HD combines Runco’s luxury video heritage with Planar’s history of ruggedized design. The 42in. display uses specialized LCD technology and glass that’s been bonded and treated to withstand the elements.
Vivix internal video processing is included for advanced scaling of 480p, 720p and 1080i video formats up to the set’s native resolution of 1366x768. The WP-42HD’s enclosure protects against temperature, exposure to moisture, dust, oils and intermittent direct water spray. A custom-sealed aluminum cabinet incorporates an internal ventilation system for cooling. The WP-42HD is said to surpass International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) ingress-protection IP56 weatherproof standards.
