The iMuse Sierra HD multi-zone media player delivers triple-disc playback of HD DVD, Blu-ray Disc and DVDs. The unit upscales all content to 1080p resolution and works seamlessly with the iMuse Ascent media player and Ascent media storage unit. The upgraded thermal design is said to reduce the BTU output of the player.
iMuse has designed the graphics-driven interface to be simple and intuitive to use. Sierra HD is compliant with the High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP). iMuse promotes the Microsoft Windows Embedded XP operating system which the company says ensures reliability over standard PC media servers that perform several functions and are prone to viruses.
