With increased consumer adoption of HD and 3DTV, accurate home theater design parameters are essential to provide consumers with a high-quality viewing experience,” says Brian Markwalter, vice president of research and standards for CEA. “This new bulletin provides valuable guidelines to manufacturers and the ESC industry, ultimately leading to maximum performance in home theater design for consumers.”

“CEB 23 is a recommended guideline that will enable the ESC community to design a high-performance home theater through accurate measurement of screen size and systems design,” says Dave Pedigo, CEDIA senior director of technology. “This bulletin, in addition to future documents CEA and CEDIA are working to create, provides information to assist ESCs in preparing for certification exams, and will help to further advancement in home theater design.”
