In a year of interesting innovations, these projectors stood out and received big buzz at InfoComm. They are not just HDBaseT, they are also lamp-free via LED/laser diodes. These projectors feature single-chip DLP, published at more than 3K lumens, and available in 1080p and WXGA. Panasonic’s Digital Link connection (based on the Valens chip) allowing a single cable to transmit uncompressed HD videos, audio, and control commands up to 100 meters (328ft.). The need for an external receiver is eliminated when the projectors are used together with Panasonic’s new ET-YFB100 switcher box or other switchers with HDBaseT chipset. Panasonic has already worked on integration with Crestron, Extron, and AMX switchers. It’s an auspicious beginning for HDBaseT, the standard that may take us beyond HDMI into professional-grade single-cable solutions.
