The Philips 42PFL9832D LCD TV is part of the 2007 lineup of Ambilight TVs. Ambilight uses backlighting that’s said to reduce eyestrain, improve perceived detail, contrast, and color, and provide a more immersive viewing environment. This Full Ambilight model provides backlighting on all four sides, matching the dominant onscreen colors and emitting a corresponding light on each side of the TV. Features include 1080p resolution, Perfect Pixel HD Engine to maximize 1080p content for the best picture, Pixel Plus 3 HD, Digital Natural Motion, and ClearLCD. The panels’ picture refresh rate of 120Hz provides smoother motion in fast-action scenes. Availability begins in April.
