Elite Screens is now offering its new StarBright 7 series of high-performance fixed-frame screens. The StarBright 7 series is an ultra-high, seven-gain angular reflective material. It is ideal for well-lit applications and situations without control of room lighting. The unique surface coating on the screens maintains color balance and saturationeven in extremely high lighting. The coating also eliminates hot spot artifacts typically associated with high gain screens. The StarBright 7 series is available from 88in. to 206in. diagonal. Custom sizes are available. Elite's Insta-DE screens offer a very easy-to-use instant screen and whiteboard solution in one. The self-adhesive backing easily mounts to textured surfaces creating a screen anywhere one is needed. The Insta-DE screen's VersaWhite surface offers a matte white finish with a 1.1 gain, and it is coated with a scratch-resistant optical resin.
Omega Glas (distributed in the U.S. and Canada by Vislogix) has two new offerings: the Vipro HardScreen and the Vipro FrontScreen. The Vipro HardScreen is a security (tempered) glass gray screen coated with the Vipro Matrix that provides outstanding front- and rear-projection images and offers true 180-degree viewing. Almost any glass surface in a building may be used as a front- or rear-projection surface by applying the Vipro Matrix coating. Standard and custom-sized screens are available. The Vipro FrontScreen is a white glass screen providing excellent front projection images. Combined, the Vipro series offers a wide variety of options for visual presentation in a building by using both traditional and nontraditional screen locations.
Screen Solutions International offers a wide range of screen materials and styles. The company's new Definition film rear-projection material is a film that may be applied to any glass or acrylic surface to create a screen. It offers seamless sizes up to 122in. diagonal in a 16:9 aspect ratio and a 100in. diameter in a 4:3 aspect ratio. It may also be tiled to create larger displays. It may also be cut into different shapes and sizes to create a truly unique display. The material offers rich, bold color and high contrast. It may easily be used in a high-ambient-light environment. The company's new Intrigue film is a clear, colorless (transparent) film that is applied over any glass or acrylic surface. The clear nature of the film provides a holographic effect when an image is displayed. Multiple layers of the film may be used to enhance the color saturation and contrast. Like its sibling, Intrigue film may be cut into unique shapes and sizes to truly customize a display.
Stewart Filmscreen introduced the Gallery Wall screen series at InfoComm 2010. The Gallery Wall Screen series is a collection of front- and rear-projection sculpted, fixed-frame screens in a variety of colors, finishes, and materials. The design is easy to match to any room décor, and it opens the door to use in situations where a traditional screen may be viewed as incompatible with the aesthetics of the room. A new wall-mounting system includes leveling vials to simplify installation. Both traditional and specialty mounts are available for the Gallery Wall series.
Vutec has introduced its Fusion-HD line of scratch-resistant, multilayer, rigid acrylic rear screens. The Fusion-HD line offers 180 degree off-axis viewing and extremely high-ambient-light rejection. The design of the material provides high contrast, clarity, and color saturation even in areas with uncontrolled lighting. The Fusion-HD line offers a pre-assembled frame, or it may be suspended from any ceiling structure. It is available in 16:9, 16:10, 2.35:1, and 4:3 aspect ratios. Custom sizes are also available. Vutec's new Vision-X Dyna-Curve series is a fixed curve screen designed to create an enhanced theater sensation. The Dyna-Curve series is available in Vutec's SilverStar, BrightWhite Opaque, PearlBright, GreyDove, and SoundScreen materials. The screen is a native 2.35:1 aspect ratio and offers fully automated vertical masking for 16:9 and 4:3 images. Since the image height is constant for all aspect ratios, Dyna-Curve screens offer continuous viewing distance no matter the image format.
