Atlantic Technology to Develop IP Loudspeakers

Atlantic Technology has developed IP-ready loudspeakers that are compatible with Netstreams' StreamNet whole-house Internet Protocol (IP) AV distribution technology. Netstreams' synchronized digital signal from the source provides a pristine signal to the StreamNet-ready loudspeaker's voice coil, delivering a high-quality audio performance. Netstreams will showcase samples of these speakers this week at CEDIA Expo in Denver.
Atlantic Technology modified three of its most popular in-wall systems-the IWTS-4 LCR, the IWTS-7 LCR, and the IWTS-14 LCR-to include a special A-B connector switch that allows the speaker to either be connected via the regular terminals or via the Netstreams Euro-style barrier connector when thrown into Netstreams position. When connected to the Netstreams system, the speakers are bi-amplified using either the Netstreams two-channel or four-channel SpeakerLinX room amplifiers. The result is an improved dynamic range and sound pressure level from the speaker.

Atlantic Technology plans to ship the first of these loudspeakers in the fourth quarter of 2008.
