Polycom announced a new line of configurable telepresence solutions, the Polycom Architected Telepresence Experience (ATX) 300, which can be customized by qualified audiovisual integrators to address vertical industry applications or an organization's unique requirements, according to company officials.
The Polycom ATX 300 is a telepresence kit that includes systems and software that can be combined with planning, design, and implementation services from qualified AV integrators to create customized solutions for a broad range of industries and applications. Polycom says ATX solutions can also integrate with existing videoconferencing systems.
"Customers...increasingly want their own variation of a telepresence solution," said Michael Brandofino, executive vice president for video and unified communications at AVI-SPL, in a statement. "Polycom has been the quickest to respond to that need with the Polycom ATX solution, which enables us to create solutions tailored for each customer."
The ATX 300 can be adapted to installed audio devices, ceiling microphones, document cameras, and other AV systems to address a range of distance learning applications such as telepresence-enabled lecture halls or interactive classrooms.
The Polycom components in the ATX 300 kit include three Polycom HDX 8006 codecs and rack-mount brackets, three Polycom EagleEye 1080p cameras, one HDX Ceiling Microphone Array and two extension kits, HDX telepresence software, and more. The kit also includes Crestron control system software, according to Polycom.
