Bosch Incorporates Audinate Networking

Bosch Communications Systems has entered a licensing agreement with Audinate and will implement the company's Dante audio networking solution into Bosch's Electro-Voice, Dynacord, Telex, Midas, Klark Teknik, and Bosch-brand products.

Bosch Communications Systems has entered a licensing agreement with Audinate and will implement the company's Dante audio networking solution into Bosch's Electro-Voice, Dynacord, Telex, Midas, Klark Teknik, and Bosch-brand products.

"Dante will become the foundation of our Common Audio Protocol (CAP) communications solution across the Bosch Communication Systems companies," said Bill Scott, vice president of engineering and technology, in a statement. "We selected Dante because of its ease-of-use, lower latency, and scalability."

According to the company, Audinate's Dante solution provides a self-configuring, plug-and-play, digital audio network that uses standard Internet protocols. It is one of several digital audio networking solutions.

Audinate works over 100Mb and 1Gb Ethernet. Officials say using Dante eliminates the need for bulky cables often required for point-to-point analog wiring in AV installations. Also, Dante incorporates automatic device discovery and system configuration capability that eases setup and manages AV media networks.
