FSR, which makes audio and video switching, control products, and connectivity boxes, announced the availability of building information modeling (BIM) objects on ARCAT.com to aid the modeling process for architects, engineers, spec writers and contractors.

ARCAT, a major publisher of building material information, developed and posted FSR's Autodesk Revit BIM objects on its website for universal download at no charge.

"We are delighted that our objects are now accessible through ARCAT," said Jan Sandri, president of FSR, in a statement. "Accurate graphics will enable design professionals to plan with increased precision, ultimately saving time and money."

Company officials said ARCAT and FSR have added appropriate product data to each object, eliminating a significant amount of data entry and product research. In addition to product information, ARCAT has embedded links in the objects to FSR's Construction Specifications Institute Three-Part specs. All of FSR's objects, graphics and content, are uniform and modifiable for ease of use.

"There is an infinite amount of information held within the model that streamlines the planning and design stage and produces faster, pristine results throughout the architect, engineering, and construction community," Sandri added.
