Sound Drafting Software

Stage Research, a developer of audio, sound design, and lighting software, introduces its new three-scale Sound Template drafting aid supplement to its original Sound Template drafting tool. The aid is a 1/8-, 1/4-, and 1/2-inch scale template that includes audio symbols, specs of over 40 popular theatrical loudspeakers, measurements, and steps and formulas for loudspeaker placement.

According to the company, it can be used as a teaching tool or as a replacement for CAD software. Unlike CAD, the drafting aid boasts the capability to draw a sound field and to predict delay time, SPL at a certain distance from a speaker, and combined SPLs.
