For a variety of fixed installations, Mitsubishi Digital Electronics is debuting its new XD8100U XGA and widescreen WD8200U WXGA DLP projectors. Each offers dual-lamp technology, but, depending on need, users can operate them in single- or dual-lamp mode. The projectors top out at 7,000 and 6,500 lumens, respectively. With the new models, Mitsubishi is introducing proprietary edge-blending and color-matching technology that supports combining up to three images from three separate projectors in one seamless image. Other features include a heat-pipe cooling system that absorbs the heat and funnels it away from the projector; motorized horizontal and vertical lens shift and motorized focus and zoom; and the ability to rotate images 360 degrees. They have an HDMI input and a RJ-45 port, plus support for Crestron and AMX remote management. Mitsubishi Digital Electronics. 800-332-2119. mitsubishi-tv.com.
