InFocus has debuted five new projectors in its IN2100 and IN3100 series that offer high brightness and new features for an entry-level price point, according to company officials. Some of the new features include increased zoom capabilities, vivid colors, and 3,000-3,500 lumens for use in classroom and meeting room conditions.

"With the adoption of flat panels in schools and businesses, expectations for what's bright enough have changed," said Robert Detwiler, product manager for InFocus, in a statement. "For the IN2100 and IN3100 series, we have dramatically increased brightness and coupled it with the performance characteristics of some of our best-selling projectors."

The IN2100 is now available with a starting price of $599 and comes standard with a long-life lamp and two computer and assignable audio inputs for multiple presenters.

The IN3100 projectors start at $1,499 and support HDMI compatibility with laptops and HDTVs, DisplayLink for USB connectivity, LitePort for presenting without a PC, LiteShow II for wireless connectivity for multiple users over WiFi, and Wireless DisplayLink for point-to-point connectivity over ultra-wideband.

The IN2116 and IN3116 are widescreen models intended for smaller presentation environments.

All new projectors in the IN2100 and IN3100 series offer an Eco Mode for lower power consumption and are designed to consume less than 1 watt of power while in Standby Mode, says the company. Native resolutions include SVGA, XGA, and a maximum WUXGA. All use DLP technology from Texas Instruments and implement InFocus BrilliantColor technology. The projectors also offer a filter-free, dust-resistant design for less maintenance, and a five-year factory warranty.

The IN2112, IN2114, and IN3114 are now available. The IN2116 and IN3116 are expected to be available early this year.
