High-Bright DLP Projector: Christie Digital Systems Roadie HD+35K

HIGH-BRIGHT DLP PROJECTOR

Christie's brightest projector is the new Roadie HD+35K, emitting 35,000 center lumens (32,500 ANSI lumens) with 2048x1080 HD resolution and 10-bit image processing, according to the company. The HD+35K was built for travel, with a quick set-up system sturdy enough to withstand frequent installs, says the company. A new motorized lens mount is designed to enable users to focus and adjust the projected image position via remote control, officials add. Other features include user-replaceable lamps, built-in body handling for handling and rigging, and optional Christie Twist and AutoStack. Price: $159,995. PROJECTION SCREEN

Elite Screens' StarBright7 series of ultrahigh 7-gain materials are now available in sizes up to 200 inches diagonal. According to the company, StarBright7 uses an advanced high-contrast filter surface-coating to absorb ambient light while boosting black-level contrast and color reproduction. Because StarBright7 is seven times brighter than the typical matte white (1 gain magnesium carbonate control) materials and has a multilayered design, the screen concentrates reflected light into a bright image with layers that diffuse intensity and filter ambient light, says the company, resulting in fewer hot spots and a less washed-out effect. LCD PROJECTOR

The new Canon LV-7275 multimedia projector offers 2,600 lumens and a native XGA resolution with an aspect ratio of 4:3. With a 1.2x zoom lens, the projector is capable of a range of throw distances, allowing it to display on multiple screen sizes in large or small rooms. Multiple inputs add to its flexibility, supporting computers, Blu-ray and DVD players, digital cameras, a DVI-I interface, and RJ-45 connectivity. Five image-setting modes include Standard, Presentation, Cinema, sRGB, and Video. A separate Whiteboard Mode reduces reflective white spots when projecting on a whiteboard, says the company. PTZ CAMERA

Thanks to an expanded partnership between the companies, Vaddio now offers the new Canon BU-45H and BU-50H HD PTZ cameras. Both work with Vaddio's ProductionView HD-SDI switcher and Precision Camera Controller. The BU-45H is a weatherproof robotic PTZ 16:9 camera with three 1/3-inch CCD sensors and a 20x optical zoom lens with image stabilizer technology and optional auto focus. The BU-50H PTZ uses the same sensors, optical zoom lens, and lens features, but is built for indoor use and is capable of 300 degrees of panning and 80 degrees of tilt. Prices: BU-45H, $23,000; BU-50H, $19,000. Vaddio. 800-572-2011. www.vaddio.com.

At less than 7 pounds, the XGA projector comes with a high-efficiency filter and offers a lamp life of 6,000 hours in eco mode, according to the company. Functions include closed captioning, whiteboard/blackboard modes, template function, and instant on/off. The CP-RX80 also features My Screen, My Memory, My Buttons, My Source, and PIN lock security. MULTIVIEWER

RGB Spectrum's latest addition to its SuperView family of multiviewers is the new model 5000, offering real-time video for up to 12 windows. The SV5000's performance does not rely on a set number of I/Os or specific resolution, according to the company. Instead of a PC, it's based on a custom architecture with reportedly faster updates, more display flexibility, 24/7 robustness, and security. The scalable SV5000 can be expanded to as many as 12 inputs, including RGB/DVI, analog video, and HD-SDI. Each input can be sized and positioned anywhere on-screen, while graphics signals are selectable up to 1920x1200; HD up to 1080p. SD inputs include Composite, Component, or S-Video.
