Epson unveiled the PowerLite Pro Z8050WNL, the company's latest high brightness multimedia projector designed for auditorium and large venue applications. The PowerLite Pro Z8050WNL is Epson's brightest projector ever, according to the company, with 7,000 lumens color light output and 7,000 lumens white light output (ISO 21118). The PowerLite Pro Z8050WNL also features native WXGA resolution (1280 x 800) and Epson's high-aperture 3-chip 3LCD technology.

"Epson is committed to bringing the best and brightest large venue projectors to market, and the PowerLite Pro Z8050WNL represents that with a combination of brightness, performance, and control," said Edgar Jimenez, associate product manager for business projectors at Epson America, in a statement. "In addition, the message broadcast functionality and the off axis installation flexibility make it ideal for digital signage uses."

Developed for large venue applications in education, corporations, and houses of worship, the PowerLite Pro Z8050WNL offers 5,000:1 contrast ratio, a liquid cooling system, durable optical chips, and a dual-lamp design that further enhances its image quality, performance, and reliability, the company says. The projector's design allows for easy access to lamps and filters. An Epson-estimated 10,000-hour filter cleaning schedule makes maintenance easier and less frequent.

The PowerLite Pro Z8050WNL includes flexible installation features and customized powered lens options for motorized zoom, focus, and lens shift functions that are controllable through the remote, RS-232, or IP. The centered lens design can be installed +/- 30-degrees off-axis horizontally and +/- 10-degrees off-axis vertically. Installers can choose from six optional lenses, including a rear-projection option, to customize a solution. Additional benefits include easy integration with other devices, LAN connectivity, a built-in closed captioning decoder, plus simple monitor and control capabilities with the included Epson monitor software.

The Epson PowerLite Pro Z8050WNL projector is currently available through pro AV dealers for an MSRP of $18,999.
