Epson this week announced the new PowerLite Pro G-series installation projectors designed for medium to large meeting spaces in corporations, higher education, K-12, and houses of worship. The PowerLite Pro G5550NL, G5650WNL and G5950NL are full-featured models for custom installations with future-proofing technologies and collaboration features, according to the company.

"Epson remains committed to providing high-end installers and integrators with projectors that deliver the features, flexibility, and easy set-up required for seamless integration," said Sean Gunduz, product manager for projectors at Epson America, in a statement. "The new PowerLite Pro G-series projectors provide enhanced image quality by incorporating C2Fine technology previously only found in our high-end home cinema and premium large venue installation projectors. Plus, through networking advancements, they bring new presentation and collaboration tools like multi-PC projection to end-users, while still delivering the low total cost of ownership that customers expect."

The PowerLite Pro G5550NL and G5650WNL offer 4,500 lumens of color and white light output, while the PowerLite Pro G5950NL offers 5,200 lumens of color and white light output. The PowerLite Pro G5550NL and G5950NL feature XGA resolution, while the PowerLite Pro G5650WNL features WXGA (1280x800) resolution to accommodate widescreen content.

Along with C2Fine technology, the PowerLite Pro G-series includes a DICOM simulation mode to reproduce medical images, such as x-rays, for medical training and education; six-axis color adjustment for tweaking the hue, saturation, and brightness of red, green, blue, cyan, magenta, and yellow; and support for split-screen projection with two side-by-side windows and three layout options so that, for instance, video and presentation materials can run simultaneously.

The new projectors also come with Epson Easy Management for network monitoring, maintenance scheduling, and e-mail alerts via LAN; and Crestron RoomView compatibility. Each comes with HDMI, two computer VGA ports, two audio-in, USB, hardwire remote, five BNC, monitor out, RS-232, and optional Quick-Connect Wireless connectivity options.

Epson says the three new projector models replace the current PowerLite Pro G5150NL, Pro G5200WNL and Pro G5350NL. The PowerLite Pro G5650WNL ($3,599) and Pro G5950NL ($3,599) will be available in November. The PowerLite Pro G5550NL ($3,149*) will be available in January 2011 through pro AV dealers.
