The Riedel Acrobat is a wireless communications intercom that uses the Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications (DECT) standard as a foundation. From there, the company added its Acrobat VoIP-over-DECT platform, as well as Enhanced Channel Agility (ECA), which allows Acrobat to use the entire DECT frequency and channel spectrum by dynamically allocating calls to any free RX or TX time slot, says the company. The Acrobat system comprises one or more Acrobat Cell Controllers, which handles the VoIP-over-DECT cell management, and up to 80 Acrobat Cell Antennas, which connect to the Controller via Ethernet. At 2RUs, Acrobat connects to a party line or matrix intercom via eight analog four-wire ports and 12 GPIOs. Price: Contact vendor. Riedel Communications. www.riedel.net.
