Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems introduced a new broadcast interface card for use in its digital mixing consoles and DME digital mixing engines. The Yamaha MY8-SDI-ED handles input and output of HD-SDI embedded audio signals, offering eight to 64 I/O channels depending on the number of consoles and cards. It has one HD/SD-SDI input, two HD/SD-SDI outputs, and one reclocked through-output. Yamaha says the MY8-SDI-ED card can de-embed two of four audio groups, multiplexed in an HD-SDI signal, and can embed two audio groups into an HD/SD-SDI output signal. The card slips into the optional I/O slots of Yamaha's mixers and interfaces with EtherSound, CobraNet, AES/EBU, MADI, ADAT, Dante, and other formats. Price: $3,000.
