DIGITAL SIGNAGE
Christie has rolled out what it calls MicroTiles, which are modular display tiles that can be arranged into videowalls of varying sizes and shapes with just a 1 mm gap between tiles, according to the company. Rear-projection modules measuring 16 by 12 inches use DLP technology and LED illumination in a unit about 10 inches deep. Each 20-pound tile is serviceable from the front and is "self aware" according to Christie, which means the tiles calibrate themselves for uniform displays. With a pixel pitch of 0.5 mm, the product line aims to challenge LED tiles for large-scale videowalls. Price: Contact vendor. Christie. 866-880-4462. www.microtiles.com.
