Bright Ideas

Conference tables in corporate boardrooms can quickly become a tangled mess of wires when presenters pile cords that connect laptops to projectors and displays on top of existing cables from audio- or videoconferencing systems.

Conference tables in corporate boardrooms can quickly become a tangled mess of wires when presenters pile cords that connect laptops to projectors and displays on top of existing cables from audio- or videoconferencing systems. To alleviate this problem, Kramer Electronics has introduced the TC-PTP01B Power Tower Plus tabletop connection manager. The device includes a 15-pin HD computer graphics video connector, a 3.5 mm stereo audio jack, an RJ45 connector, a USB connector, and a power connector — all incorporated in a cylindrical shaped, pull-up system. Once a 4-inch diameter hole is cut into the conference table, the Power Tower Plus and thread are dropped on a collar and installed beneath the table. The 10-foot cable on the underside of the TC-PTP01B corresponds to each of its input connectors. The Power Tower Plus lists for $550, and is currently available.
