Taking a cue from its own PoleVault classroom solutions, Extron Electronics has begun selling what it calls WallVault, a complete switching plus control system for use with wall-mounted, short-throw projectors and flat-panel displays. It comes in two-, three-, or four-input systems with a twisted-pair switcher, integrated audio amplifier, MediaLink controller, flat-field speakers, WallVault mounting kit, cables, and wall plates. The packages support different combinations of VGA and composite computer/video sources. The switcher/amplifier has an automatic power-saving mode and a standby mode to conserve energy, and the components are mounted securely to a wall.
