York Telecom to Offer Cisco TelePresence

York Telecom Corp., a provider of visual communications services and solutions, has added Cisco TelePresence and Unified Communications to its customer offerings by earning Cisco TelePresence Authorized Technology Provider status and a Cisco Advanced Unified Communications Specialization.

York Telecom Corp., a provider of visual communications services and solutions, has added Cisco TelePresence and Unified Communications to its customer offerings by earning Cisco TelePresence Authorized Technology Provider (ATP) status and a Cisco Advanced Unified Communications Specialization. York Telecom achieved the designations by completing the training requirements and program prerequisites to sell, deploy, and support the two Cisco systems.

"As a Cisco Unified Communications and a Cisco TelePresence ATP partner, York Telecom's investment in the training required to provide integrated, collaborative, and adaptive unified communications solutions ranks them among the industry's most qualified," said Richard McLeod, director of unified communications for worldwide channels at Cisco, in a statement.

"We are now better positioned to provide the interoperability consultation and service support that customers are demanding," said York Telecom president and COO Ron Gaboury in a statement.

The Cisco ATP Program is part of the company's go-to-market strategy for emerging technologies. According to the company, the program helps Cisco to define the knowledge, skills, and services that channel partners need to successfully sell, deploy, and support an emerging technology. As the market changes, an ATP may be discontinued or evolve into a Cisco specialization, say Cisco officials.

The Cisco Advanced Unified Communications Specialization is designed to help Cisco resale channel partners meet customers' needs by allowing partners to focus on unified communications market opportunities that require advanced product knowledge and the ability to deploy solutions over multiple sites and geographies. According to Cisco, partners in this program are specialists in building solutions based on the Cisco Unified Communications portfolio, which includes Cisco Unified CallManager Unity Connection, Unity voice messaging, and Unified messaging, as well as Unity Express, Unified Contact Center Express, Unified Videoconferencing, and Unified MeetingPlace Express.
