Triveni Digital, a subsidiary of LG Electronics, is scheduled to present two technical papers at the 2008 NAB Broadcast Engineering Conference April 12-17 in Las Vegas, covering issues of video and content delivery.
The company's director of product management and marketing, Ralph Bachofen, will present the first paper, "Systemwide Video Quality Assurance -- a look at monitoring elements critical to the delivery of high-quality DTV service." In his presentation, Bachofen will address the challenges of establishing efficient and reliable quality assurance across an enterprise, as well as outline key components in a successful centralized stream-monitoring and quality-assurance strategy by focusing on five components of quality assurance: automated monitoring, active analysis and troubleshooting, consolidation of systemwide information for evaluation, communication of report and alarm data, and configuration of all monitoring and analysis systems in a centralized model.
The second paper, "Non-Real-Time Services," will be presented by the company's CTO, Dr. Richard Chernock and discuss the basic concepts and technical requirements of NRT services, using illustrative scenarios that demonstrate how this new approach to content delivery enables broadcasters to capitalize more fully on their media assets. NRT content is delivered in advance of use and stored in the receiving deice for access on-demand. Typical applications for NRT services include push VOD; new, information, and weather services; personalized TV channels; and music distribution, among others.
