Sharp Expands LCD Monitor Line
Sharp has introduced an addition to its line of professional LCD monitors with the TL series.
Sharp has introduced an addition to its line of professional LCD monitors with the TL series of full 1920 x 1080, two-megapixel HD LCD monitors. The series includes the 52-inch TL-M5200 (shown) and the 46-inch TL-M4600, which offer high image quality at a competitive price, according to the company. Officials said the monitors were designed for use in various applications, such as teleconferencing, CAD/simulation, digital signage, corporate, education, training, hospitality, sports arenas, entertainment, and house of worship.
Sharp's proprietary Advanced Super View (ASV) panel supports fast-moving video through a pixel response time of less than 6 ms, and provides wide 176-degree viewing angles. The TL-M4600 features a 1500:1 contrast ratio and the TL-M5200 has a 2000:1 contrast ratio, for increased detail of darker content. An array of input connectors enables the monitors to show a variety of content, from DVD to varying PC resolutions from both analog and digital (DVI-D) sources. Both include HDCP-compatible HDMI inputs for access to HD content, plus a built-in Web browser.
"The large-format display market continues to evolve, with increased needs for advanced functionality and connectivity in a reasonably priced package," said Dan Wynne, senior director of marketing in Sharp America's professional display division, in a statement. "With the addition of this affordable monitor series, Sharp will reach a broader audience while offering superior image quality and improved compatibility, for reliability in a wider range of commercial applications."
The TL-M5200 is currently available through Sharp authorized dealers and value-added resellers for a suggested price of $4,995. The TL-M4600 will be available in June through Sharp dealers and resellers for $3,995.
