Mitsubishi Goes Pico-Portable

Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America's Presentation Products Division rolled out the XD95U, a 3.3-pound pico-portable projector for on-the-go presenters.

Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America's Presentation Products Division rolled out the XD95U, a 3.3-pound pico-portable projector for on-the-go presenters.

Emitting 2,200 ANSI lumens, the new projector allows users to present in a range of lighting conditions, even in rooms with the lights on and window shades open, according to officials. It features an estimated 3,000-hour lamp life in low mode and has a filter-free design that contributes to a lower cost of ownership, says the company. A quick-cooling instant shutdown feature allows the presenter to make a fast exit after a presentation to accommodate tight classroom or sales meeting schedules.

"Often times meeting rooms are booked back-to-back and presenters need to pick up their materials and hardware and go," said Wayne Kozuki, Mitsubishi product manager. "The quick-cooling feature in XD95U helps presenters get back on the road or to their desks with minimal delay."

The XD95U XGA resolution projector uses Texas Instruments' DLP technology and comes in a compact design. For easy setup, color wall support allows users to select a particular surface color, including light yellow, light green, blue, pink, or blackboard. Once the user chooses a color, the projector automatically adjusts its output to create the best possible image for that background or base color surface.

The XD95U pico-projector is scheduled to be available this month for a suggested retail price of $1,495.
