Leon Speakers, a manufacturer of custom-built loudspeakers for flat-panel displays, launched the Vault In-Wall Series, in-wall loudspeakers designed as either mains or as timbre-matched rear channels to complement the Leon Horizon or Profile series loudspeakers. The fully sealed, acoustically dampened handcrafted cabinets are available with paintable metal grills or custom-colored fabric grills to match a room's decor.
With a 3.75-inch depth, the Vault in-wall speakers fit a standard wall and come equipped with 4-inch (v114i) or 5-inch (v115i) drivers and 1-inch cloth-dome Morel tweeters. The enclosures are made from 3/4-inch thermo-wrapped MDF and feature a 10-guage laser-cut, cold-rolled flange. An isolation-point mounting system allows for easy installation pre or post construction as well as high-quality vibration dampening. A butyl gasket between the wall and speaker further reduces unwanted resonance.
"Our commitment to custom design has been a great success for our on-wall speakers, such as the Profile and Horizon series, and we are pleased to bring this same approach to our new Vault line of in-wall speakers," said Noah Kaplan, president of Leon Speakers, in a statement. "Like all Leon products, our in-wall speakers combine unmatched sound quality with an extra level of in-house custom options. The Vault line offers a variety of drivers and woofers, in addition to magnetic grills that can be custom finished in any color or wrapped in more than 70 different fabrics to match any room."
The v114i is available with standard, audiophile-grade, or Peerless HDS woofers for a starting price of $995. The v115i is available with European or audiophile-grade woofers starting at $1,195.
