Kramer Releases New PC/HD Scaler

Kramer Electronics has introduced the VP-420 ProScale Digital PC/HD scaler, a high-performance digital scaler for computer graphics video, Component video, and HDTV video signals. The device scales the input up or down to a selectable computer graphics video or HDTV output signal on a 15-pin HD connector.

Kramer Electronics has introduced the VP-420 ProScale Digital PC/HD scaler, a high-performance digital scaler for computer graphics video, Component video, and HDTV video signals. According to the company, the device scales the input up or down to a selectable computer graphics video or HDTV output signal on a 15-pin HD connector.

Housed in a compact Kramer MegaTools enclosure, the VP-420 supports widescreen resolutions, and scales and outputs computer graphics video resolutions from VGA (640 x 480) up to WUXGA (1900 x 1200); Component video signals of 480i, 480p, 575i, and 576p resolutions; and HD signals of 720p, 1080i, and 1080p resolutions. The unit is suited for displaying HD video on displays that have only 15-pin HD connectors available.

The VP-420 features an on-screen display for setup and adjustment, which is accessible via both IR remote control and front-panel buttons. The unit also features a built-in processing amplifier to adjust signal brightness, contrast, and color in addition to an image Freeze button and a Quick Auto-Adjust button for automatic image setup, says the company.

The VP-420 ProScale Digital PC/HD Scaler is available through authorized Kramer Electronics resellers and carries a list price of $795.
