Kramer Electronics has announced the release of its new FC-331 3G HD-SDI to HDMI format converter. According to the company, the device converts an SDI audio and video signal to an HDMI output signal with the same resolution and frame rate.
The FC-331 accepts a multistandard SDI signal--an SDI, HD-SDI, or 3G HD-SDI signal on a BNC connector--and converts the signal into an HDMI output via HDMI connector. It also offers a looping input on a BNC connector so the original SDI signal can be simultaneously sent to a second destination in its original format, says the company.

According to Kramer, the FC-331 is HDTV-compatible and comes in a compact DigiTools enclosure with active input and output LED indicators. The converter also has an SDI audio group selection, rotary switch for choosing an SDI input stereo channel from a selection of eight audio pairs.

The FC-331 3G HD-SDI to HDMI format converter is available through authorized Kramer resellers and carries a list price of $895.
