Sennheiser plans to integrate its subsidiary, studio monitor and installed sound manufacturer Klein + Hummel, into the Sennheiser and Neumann companies, officials said. Sennheiser took over sales and development of Klein + Hummel, plus its worldwide rights, in 2005.

"We would like to benefit from the strength of the Sennheiser and Neumann brands in this business area," said Sennheiser spokesperson Volker Bartels, in a statement. "Neumann and Sennheiser promise a much better market penetration than is at present possible under the brand name of Klein + Hummel."

Berlin-based Georg Neumann GmbH will become responsible for the studio monitor business, while Sennheiser will absorb the installed sound portfolio.

"Under these well known brands, we hope to considerably increase sales of these premium products," continued Bartels. "Neumann-as the studio brand-will expand its portfolio, and Sennheiser will further strengthen its installed sound business, which is the company's third pillar, so to speak, besides the consumer and professional business."

The integration is expected to be complete by the beginning of 2010. According to the company, most of the employees from K + H will be employed by Sennheiser and Neumann.
