InfoComm's Vergauwen Dies

Jay Rogina, CTS, president of InfoComm International, released a statement today announcing the sudden death of the association's secretary/treasurer Michael Vergauwen.

"InfoComm International is sad to report that our Secretary/Treasurer, Michael Vergauwen, Executive Vice President and COO of AVI Systems, died in a drowning accident yesterday.

"Michael Vergauwen was a valued member of InfoComm's Board of Directors and was a tireless advocate for the audiovisual industry. He offered wise counsel and was a good friend to so many of us in the InfoComm family. He will be missed greatly, and we offer our sincere condolences to Michael's family and friends.

Funeral arrangements for Michael Vergauwen are pending. In the coming weeks, InfoComm will be announcing its plans to recognize his great accomplishments and contributions over the years.
