Crestron recently released a new 17-inch version of its Isys TPS-17G-QM HD touch panels. According to the company, the Isys touch panels deliver a higher level of performance with dual-window video, RGB, and HDTV displays that meet the demands of sophisticated control applications.

The 17-inch TPS-17G-QM WXGA widescreen displays joins the TPS-12G and TPS-15G, offering an extra-wide viewing angle with high brightness and contrast for control graphics, high-resolution images, and full-motion HD video.

QuickMedia (QM) connectivity provides the touch panel with simple system design and installation, which can translate into cost savings, company officials said. Developed by Crestron, QM technology simultaneously transmits all audio, video, and computer signals on a single Cat-5e type wire.

In addition to QM connectivity, the QM-TX transmitter functions like the IMC module in the TPMC-15/17 models, connecting conventional AV sources and PCs. The QM-TX provides the additional benefit of transmitting all signals up to 450 feet on a single cable. Native "Touch-the-PC" remote touch-screen navigation enables integration with an external PC, allowing access to favorite applications, media players, and Web browsers.

Crestron touch panels offer an interface for multi-media presentation, videoconferencing, home automation, and more, with an open canvas for the addition of custom control screens tailored to the needs of the end user.
