Barco Unveils New Routers at NAB

This week at NAB in Las Vegas, Barco announced its newest line of 3G/HD/SD-SDI and analog routers. Specifically designed for the needs of the events market, the new MatrixPRO-II routers are integrated with the Encore and ScreenPRO-II presentation systems, according to the company.
The MatrixPRO-II 3G-SDI line is available in three models–8x8, 16x16, and 32x32–in a slim, energy-efficient package that measures only 2.2 inches deep. All three models support 3G/HD/SD-SDI signals at bit rates of 19.4 Mbps to 3 Gbps. Re-clockers are standard on all three models. The routers can be controlled from the front panel, Ethernet, or RS-232. A redundant power supply option is also available.
Barco's MatrixPRO-II analog series is also offered in three configurations: 12x8, 16x16, and 32x32. All three models are available with an audio option, and the 12x8 and 16x16 models come with an optional cable equalization feature. According to the company, the MatrixPRO-II series features bandwidth greater than 600 MHz at -3 dB with +/- 1 dB flatness to 300 MHz. The company says this high bandwidth and flat frequency response allows for image switching and signal distribution without artifacts.
"Our customers have asked us to upgrade our MatrixPRO router line to meet their current and future needs and provide a cost-effective signal distribution solution," said Jen Deame, vice president of image processing for Barco North America, in a statement.
