Alcorn McBride announced this week it hired Loren Barrows to manage new business development. According to the company, her new role bridges the gap between marketing and sales.

Barrows' task will be to identify new markets for Alcorn McBride products and also help existing customer discover new capabilities in the products they already use. Additionally, Barrows will provide the engineering department with customer feedback about new products and features.

"Loren brings an important new facet to our sales and marketing departments," said Jeremy Scheinberg, chief operating officer of Alcorn McBride, in a statement. "Her quick grasp of both technology and customer requirements make her ideal for introducing Alcorn McBride products into new markets."

In addition to the theme park market, where the company provides many audio, video, and show control products, Barrows will focus on such markets as museums and themed environments.

Before joining Alcorn McBride, Barrows worked with major employers to present in-house employee development seminars, and provided sales and customer support for a variety of low-voltage applications.
