AKG Microphone Runs Gamut of Apps

AKG designed the Light Condenser Premium Vocal Microphone as an affordable acquisition for any musician to use in a wide range of applications, from vocals and live sound to recording and studio use.

AKG designed the Light Condenser Premium Vocal Microphone as an affordable acquisition for any musician to use in a wide range of applications, from vocals and live sound to recording and studio use. According to company officials, its cardioid polar pattern ensures maximum gain before feedback and has been optimized for use with in-ear monitor systems.

Designed with piano-black paint, the microphone delivers an accurate, detailed, natural sound, according to the company, and features an XLR connector module with 24-carat gold plated pins for optimal connectivity and resistance to corrosion and humidity.

In addition, the LC microphone features a spring steel wire-mesh grill for ruggedness that offers reliable control of pops and wind noise while an artist is on stage. It also has a frequency range of 60 to 20,000 Hz and a 24-carat gold plated transducer case.

"The LC microphone is designed for every individual user to create their own individual sound in a range of different applications," said Alfred Reinprecht, vice president of marketing and product management for AKG, in a statement. "It is aesthetically pleasing and produces outstanding sound quality despite the harshest stage conditions."

Standard accessories include the PC 1000 (which adds 3 to 5 dB of high-end enhancement between 5 and 9 kHz for improving clarity of each voice), a protective mic case, and the SA 61 stand adapter.
