Eyevis Builds on DLP with LED Light Source
Eyevis has revealed its new EC-LED cube series, a DLP rear-projection cube with an LED light source for videowall applications.
The displays are available in various sizes and resolutions, including native HD (1920x1080), SXGA+ (1400x1050), and WUXGA (1920x1200) in 16:10 format. Designed for 24/7 applications, the cubes were developed according to requirements of areas with difficult lighting conditions and other security-relevant conditions, according to the company. The MTBF for the LEDs averages 55,000 hours.
LED technology reportedly eliminates the need for consumables such as lamps and color wheels, reducing operating and maintenance costs. The MTBF of the DMD chips exceeds 150,000 hours, the company says. All other components of the cube are designed for continuous operation.
