In describing the system, Crestron officials said users can directly play, stream, or download a choice of titles from an onscreen menu without exiting the ADMS environment or opening a separate application. The company's own WorldSearch technology performs media searches and displays results in a graphical onscreen menu. By using the optional wireless compact keyboard or virtual keyboard on a Crestron touch panel, the WorldSearch engine collects and displays the available content related to the entered keyword, organizing and displaying the selections based on relevance and quality, says the company.

Part of a complete home entertainment system, the Crestron ADMS features a 1TB RAID-1 hard drive, the WorldSearch search engine, and a graphical interface that gather content from a wide range of sources, whether on the local hard drive, a network device, or the Internet. Optional 4TB RAID-5 NAS drives may be connected for additional hard drive storage. The ADMS also can include an optional 200-disc Blu-ray disc changer, which enables intuitive and dynamic browsing of an entire Blu-ray/DVD collection. According to the company, up to five changers may be cascaded to hold up to 1,000 discs, including home movies.

Popular music formats, such as Apple iTunes, Windows Media, and MP3 are also supported by ADMS, allowing users to search and play audio or video files from an iTunes library via home theater or multizone audio system. A touch panel enables users to preview songs before adding them to a queue; search by genre, song, album, and artist; and scroll through the album art while controlling the decibel level.

Movies are also available for rent or purchase through the ADMS system's access to Amazon Video OnDemand, as are television shows via online sites such as Hulu, Joost, Vimeo, Metacafe, and YouTube. According to the company, ADMS natively streams online TV shows, movies, and videos in full-screen HD.

The ADMS Intermedia Delivery System also features an integrated web browser that allows users to search the Internet, check e-mail, ore watch live streaming video through an HDTV.
