Smart-AVI, a provider of digital signage content creation, management, and delivery solutions, have released the HDX-400, a new HDMI signal extender that the company says can transmit 1080p video and embedded audio as far as 150 feet over Cat-6 cabling to three remote monitors and one local display for real-time monitoring.
According to the company, the source signal can come from a gaming console, DVD or Blu-ray Disc player, or any other similar HDMI device that outputs high-resolution video. While supporting three remote displays, the HDX-400 also supports a local display, allowing an administrator to see what is being shown on the remote displays without needing to leave the office or control room.
"This unit is perfect for broadcasting any high-definition HDMI signal. Whatever the need, it's possible to extend the 1080p signal to three remote screens easily and inexpensively without having to worry about sacrificing quality for distance," said Smart-AVI president and CEO Albert Cohen in a statement.
