Insight Media has rescheduled its Green Display Expo for Oct. 27 in Washington, D.C. The new date is expected to be better for bringing together industry players, according to organizers. Insight Media says the conference will be the first to focus on the growing importance of a green display strategy that incorporates technology, policy, regulatory compliance, and business issues.
"Green display practices and strategy are becoming more and more important in consumer and professional AV markets," said Insight Media president Chris Chinnock, in a statement. "EnergyStar ratings for consumer displays are a key driver from a technology and marketing perspective, but with California seeking to make these ratings mandatory, policy issues are rising in importance, too. In addition, we are working with InfoComm to help understand and influence policy for professional displays so that consumer benchmarks don't apply. All of these issues are critical for the entire display ecosystem and will be addressed at the Green Display Expo."
The Expo is scheduled to address topics such as worldwide consumer and professional display regulations and policy; corporate green strategies; display technologies that lower power use, reduce carbon footprints, or impact recycling/environmental issues; recycling trends; and business, branding, and marketing advantages of green.
Among the scheduled speakers are, Holly Elwood, EPA lead on the Electronic Products Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT) ; Christopher Kent of the EPA's EnergyStar, program; Jim Cathey, vice president of business development for Qualcomm MEMS Technology; Dr. Werner Becker, senior director for technology and head of global regulatory affairs in the Liquid Crystal Division at Merck KGaA; and more.
Full one-day conference registration is $395 if booked by September 15. Government employees receive a 20 percent discount. Contact Norbert Hildebrand, email@example.com, or Dian Mecca, firstname.lastname@example.org, for more information.
