In its attempt to enable transmission of AV over fiber-optic cabling at costs on-par with traditional methods, Magenta Research announced its Voyager series of signal management solutions. The products are based on Magenta’s new FiberMax technology, a data-sequencing and streaming engine that can simultaneously transmit uncompressed 1920x1200 video with HDCP at 60 Hz, eight-channel 24-bit DTS-HD Master Audio, bidirectional RS-232, and more. It does so over industry-standard small form-factor pluggable optics and cabling, the company says. Interoperable Voyager transmitters, receivers, distribution amplifiers, and matrix switchers use the company’s Flex-VCA architecture to support a variety of analog and digital formats through field-upgradable modules. 800-805-0944. www.magenta-research.com.
