MediaTile Taps into 4G for Signage

MediaTile, which develops 3G and 4G cellular digital signage and SaaS solutions, showcased two product concepts at Digital Signage Expo. The two prototypes, the HumanKiosk with 4G Video Presence and the interactive audience measurement system, eliminate the knowledge barrier between brands and people using live two-way video chat and soliciting real-time feedback.

MediaTile, which develops 3G and 4G cellular digital signage and SaaS solutions, showcased two product concepts at Digital Signage Expo in Las Vegas. Company officials said the two prototypes, the HumanKiosk with 4G Video Presence and the interactive audience measurement system, eliminate the knowledge barrier between brands and people using live two-way video chat and soliciting real-time feedback.

This goal can now be met efficiently and effectively with our latest generation MediaCast system and these new display solutions," said Simon Wilson, CEO of The MediaTile Company, in a statement. "Our HumanKiosk with 4G Video Presence technology will enable brands and product experts to converse directly with their customers in retail, banking, and corporate environments. Interactive audience measurement will foster a new level of relationship through real-time polling and viewer feedback. Both systems require nothing more than on-site power for infrastructure, making them simple to deploy and easy to operate."

MediaTile's HumanKiosk utilizes 4G networking video presence technology to deliver a live, two-way in-store video session as an integrated part of the content and messages displayed on the digital sign, the company explained. A customer seeking additional information about a new product can touch the screen to establish a live visual and audio connection with a product expert. Once the video session is completed, the digital sign returns to its regular on-screen promotional schedule.

With interactive audience measurement, real-time two-way audience feedback enables brands, agencies, and enterprises to collect and measure opinions and reactions to promotions that are playing, and to receive answers to direct questions that are posed. The digital signage operator applies a dynamic polling interface on top of their pre-existing content, such as video or flash-based promotions. The information captured can be analyzed on a per-viewer basis, on a demographic basis, or as an aggregate. Interactive audience measurement features are remotely managed by the SaaS-based MediaCast system and can be changed as needed by time of day, location, or type of content.

MediaTile officials said the touch-screen systems can be deployed virtually anywhere there is a power outlet because they communicate over 3G and 4G networks.
