Medialon has launched MAS Pro, a new generation of professional audio servers for both multitrack playback applications, as well as multizone independent playback, company officials said.

Unlike other multitrack playback devices, MAS Pro can simultaneously serve independent channels asynchronously and group together multiple channels for synchronized playback. Any number of individual audio files or groups can be controlled independently when needed, according to Medialon.

Multiple playback channels can sent to the same CobraNet outputs, so it is possible to play synchonized background audio and independently triggered sound effects from the same output at the same time. The volume of all players, tracks, and outputs can be controlled independently.

Medialon MAS Pro comes in a new compact, professional 19-inch 2U rack-mount form factor with 32 CobraNet output channels and 128GB of solid-state storage. It is ideal for either multitrack, sample accurate playback for large shows and attractions, as well as for independent multizone background music playback, according to the company.

The MAS Pro can be controlled entirely via TCP/IP or RS-232. Several MAS Pro units can be linked over IP and synchronized. Because it features a position-tracking capability, users can program video and lighting effects synchronized to audio with Medialon Manager Control software.
